How It Works

Provide your work history, the target role, and the job description you're applying to. The builder produces a structured resume with quantified bullet points mapped to the job's requirements, keyword-optimized for ATS parsing, in a clean single-column format.

ATS Formatting Rules

  • Single column, standard section headers ("Experience" not "My Journey"): ATS parsers rely on conventional structure.
  • No tables, text boxes, or graphics: many ATS systems can't parse them and will drop that content entirely.
  • Save as .docx or a text-selectable PDF, never an image-based PDF.
  • Match keywords from the job description exactly (if they say "project management," don't only write "managed projects").

Worked Examples

Example 1: Career Changer, Marketing → Product Management

Approach: Reframes marketing achievements in product-management language (roadmap input, cross-functional collaboration, data-driven decisions) since direct PM experience is limited.

Example 2: Senior Engineer, Staying in Track

Approach: Leads with scale and impact (systems handling X requests/day, team of Y engineers led) rather than a task list, since seniority is judged on scope and outcomes.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Listing duties instead of quantified achievements ("Responsible for social media" vs. "Grew Instagram following 40% in 6 months")
  • Not matching job description keywords, getting filtered out by ATS before a human ever sees it
  • Tables/graphics/columns that ATS systems can't parse
  • A generic resume sent to every job instead of tailoring keywords per application
  • Burying the most relevant experience under less relevant older roles

Every bullet should answer: what did you do, and what changed because of it, in numbers where possible.
