How It Works

Enter what is in the scene, any style or artist references you like, and the feeling or lighting mood. The generator builds a complete prompt using the proven formula that top AI image tools respond to best. It also gives platform-specific tweaks, negative prompts that remove common artifacts, and a short iteration plan so you land a usable result in a handful of generations instead of dozens.

Image Prompt Blueprint

This is the finished deliverable. Replace the [[tokens]] with your details and copy the prompt straight into your generator.

1. Core Prompt Formula

Subject + scene details: the main thing plus specifics that make it concrete (age, pose, clothing, material, action, environment).

Style / medium / references: photography style or art movement, named artists or illustrators the model knows, medium (oil paint, 3D render, vector, film still, cinematic).

Composition & camera: framing, angle, lens feel, depth of field, balance or rule of thirds.

Lighting & mood: direction, quality, time of day, color temperature, atmosphere.

Color palette & materials: dominant hues, accents, surface finishes.

Quality & technical tags: sharpness, detail level, resolution words the model actually respects (use 3–5 max).

Aspect & platform params: --ar or equivalent for the tool.

2. Full Ready-to-Use Prompt Template

[[Subject / scene description with specific details: a 28 year old woman with short curly black hair wearing a cream oversized blazer, standing in a sunlit minimalist loft with tall windows and a single monstera plant, looking slightly off camera with a calm confident expression]]

[[Style / medium / artistic references: shot on 85mm f/1.8, natural film photography, subtle grain, clean modern editorial style, reference to contemporary lifestyle photographers]]

[[Composition & camera: eye-level three-quarter view, subject slightly left of center with negative space on the right, soft depth of field]]

[[Lighting & mood: bright soft natural light from large windows on the left, gentle highlights on cheek and shoulder, warm but clean atmosphere]]

[[Color palette: warm neutrals with cream, soft beige, muted olive accents, light wood tones]]

highly detailed, sharp focus, natural skin texture, 8k --ar [[aspect ratio e.g. 4:5 or 16:9]] --stylize [[stylize value 100-250 for Midjourney or equivalent]]

Negative prompt (copy this base and add your specifics):

blurry, low resolution, text, watermark, logo, deformed hands, extra limbs, ugly, oversaturated, cartoon, illustration (unless wanted), harsh shadows, cluttered background, [[your specific things to avoid e.g. glasses, busy pattern]]

4. Three Complete Worked Prompt Examples

Example A: Clean product hero (e-commerce)

Subject: Matte black wireless earbud case on seamless light gray background.

Prompt:
"Minimalist product photograph of a matte black wireless earbud case on a light gray seamless background, soft even studio lighting from top-left, subtle reflection on surface, sharp focus on the case edges, clean composition with negative space on the right, modern commercial photography, highly detailed, 8k --ar 1:1 --stylize 120"

Negative: "text, logo, people, hands, shadows that obscure product, cluttered, colorful background, reflections that hide details"

Example B: Lifestyle portrait (social / personal brand)

Subject: Confident woman in 20s, natural curls, cream blazer, bright loft.

Prompt:
"Confident young woman in her late 20s with natural curly hair, wearing a cream oversized blazer and silver hoops, standing in a bright sunlit loft with large windows and plants, warm golden hour light, soft bokeh background, candid confident expression looking slightly off camera, shot on 85mm lens f/1.8, film photography aesthetic, rich but natural colors --ar 4:5 --stylize 180"

Negative: "text, watermark, deformed hands, harsh contrast, overexposed, plastic skin, cartoonish, busy background"

Example C: Conceptual marketing illustration

Subject: Team building a glowing data bridge over abstract problems.

Prompt:
"Illustration of a small diverse team of professionals building a bridge made of glowing data connections over a river of abstract problems, flat design with bold geometric shapes, limited palette of deep blue, teal, and warm orange accents, clean vector style with subtle grain, balanced composition, modern tech branding illustration --ar 16:9 --stylize 80"

Negative: "photorealistic, people with deformed faces, text, gradients that look cheap, low contrast, cluttered"

5. Model-Specific Quick Adaptations

  • Midjourney v6 / v6.1: Add --v 6 --ar W:H --stylize 150–250. Use --cref for character consistency. --q 2 for higher quality when needed.
  • Flux.1 (via Fal, Replicate, etc.): Very strong prompt adherence. Keep descriptions literal and detailed. No special params needed in most hosts. Great for text in image when wanted.
  • DALL-E 3 (ChatGPT / Bing): Excellent at text and prompt following. Use natural language sentences. Ask for "in the style of..." explicitly. Good for 16:9 or 1:1.
  • Stable Diffusion 3 / SDXL (local or hosted): Add quality tags early. Use negative prompt heavily. CFG 3.5–7, steps 30–50. Add "score9, score8up, score7_up" for Pony-based if using that checkpoint.
  • Leonardo.ai or Ideogram: Strong for text and brand consistency. Use their magic prompt or style reference features in addition.

6. Iteration Workflow (Reach Usable in 3–8 Generations)

1. Pass 1: Rough direction (1–2 gens)
Short prompt: subject + style + --ar. Pick the one with best composition and energy.

2. Pass 2: Targeted fixes
- Hands/pose wrong: Use inpaint or --cref + explicit pose description.
- Lighting off: Add exact direction and quality ("soft window light from left at 10am").
- Composition weak: Add "rule of thirds, breathing room on right side, subject offset left".

3. Pass 3: Polish
Add only the quality words that actually help the model. Upscale the winner.

4. Pass 4: Post (almost always)
Minor cleanup, color grade to brand, safe text overlay in design tool, background extension if needed.

7. Common Failure Modes and Exact Fixes

  • Deformed hands or faces: Inpaint the area; add "anatomically correct hands, natural finger count and joints, detailed eyes".
  • Text appears when not wanted: Strong negative + "no text, no letters, no numbers" + choose model strong at avoiding text.
  • Colors look off-brand: Give exact references "brand hex #0A2540 deep navy and warm #E8B86D gold".
  • Flat or boring result: Add "unexpected angle", "candid moment", "subtle motion", specific emotion.
  • Wrong aspect: Always lock --ar at generation time; do not crop later if avoidable.

8. Prompt Engineering Tips That Move the Needle

  • Put the subject and most important details in the first 10–15 words.
  • Name specific artists, photographers, or films the model was trained on ("Gregory Crewson lighting, shot on Arri Alexa, Alphonse Mucha illustration").
  • Describe materials and finish precisely for products: "matte black plastic with subtle texture, brushed aluminum accents, soft rubber feet".
  • Negative prompt is leverage: list the five things you hate seeing most.
  • For character consistency across a set: use the same seed + character reference image or repeat signature features every time.

9. Quick Reference Card

  1. Subject + concrete details first.
  2. Style + camera + lighting next.
  3. --ar and 2–3 quality tags.
  4. Negative prompt the things you hate.
  5. Iterate one variable at a time.
  6. Always post-process for final delivery.
